A free-for-all in Canada, political parties take $2.9 million
I guess it will never end, this raiding of the public purse. We are more than $400 million spent just this year because of Coronavirus.
Even political parties are into the money swamp.
I suppose there is hope the Conservatives could scale back, but I am not optimistic.
But right now, the floodgates are open and let the money flow. All borrowed money, of course, that some poor souls will have to pay off generations from now.
$2.9 million – these are the latest figures – all parties were in on it.
And given a chance to stop the madness the Liberals, NDP and Greens said no we must have the opportunity to keep funding our workers.
Thankfully, the Conservatives have stopped receiving the money and the BQ never did receive any. They thought it crazy to receive money that was meant for business, not political parties. Good on them.
The Liberals have stopped receiving the money but have not said they will pay back what they received. The Conservatives say they will pay back what they received.
But when given a chance to eliminate any future virus-like money from going to political parties the Liberals balked, and with the NDP and Greens, defeated a BQ motion to do that.
So we have the Conservatives and the BQ plus Jody Wilson-Raybould, the independent MP and former Justice Minister, standing for some ethics, but those in control will let the money flow to themselves and whomever they deem worthy.
That’s Canada today folks.
