What’s going on, have we lost our minds In the U.S. and Canada?
When are the people going to rise up and demand a stop? A stop to the madness and hypocrisy of the lockdowns.
In Manitoba the government has outlawed outdoor worship — worship from your vehicle.
Alberta has outlawed all outdoor gatherings.
Calgary police harassing kids playing outdoor hockey – ordering them to get on their knees, threatening a taser on them and refusing to inform the teens of what rule or law they had allegedly broken.
In Ontario all manner of authority harassment on small business was covered by Rebel News
In the U.S. this worship ban hit a sensible Supreme Court and the court has now ruled against worship bans in three states.
And the hypocrisy – remember Premier Doug Ford of Ontario going to his cottage after ordering everyone not to do that.
Then there is the despicable Governor of California dining in luxury after ordering everyone not to do this.
The New Mexico Governor flying to Mexico while ordering the citizens to stay at home.
And crowning it all Dr. Birx, the White House expert on the pandemic, travelling to see her extended family, contrary to her own instruction.
It is all too much. And what are we to make of the fact that everywhere in the world mask mandates were imposed the virus case counts went up significantly. There are numerous studies showing how ineffective cloth masks really are.
A May, 2020 meta-study on pandemic influenza published by the U.S. CDC found that face masks had no effect, neither as personal protective equipment nor as a source control. (Source)
A Danish randomized controlled trial with 6,000 participants, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in November 2020, found no statistically significant effect of high-quality medical face masks against SARS-CoV-2 infection in a community setting. (Source)
A July, 2020 review by the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine found that there is no evidence for the effectiveness of cloth masks against virus infection or transmission. (Source)
A May, 2020 cross-country study by the University of East Anglia (preprint) found that a mask requirement was of no benefit and could even increase the risk of infection. (Source)
An April, 2020 review by two U.S. professors in respiratory and infectious disease from the University of Illinois concluded that face masks have no effect in everyday life, neither as self-protection nor to protect third parties (so-called source control). (Source)
An article in the New England Journal of Medicine from May, 2020 came to the conclusion that cloth face masks offer little to no protection in everyday life. (Source)
Then there is the Great Barrington Declaration (endorsed by three world leading scientists in the field), recommending targeted treatment, and open the economy with 12,943 medical and public heath scientists agreeing, 39,027 medical practitioners, and more than 700,000 citizens. The mainstream media has been trying to ignore this reality and malign the original authors. Personal insult is always the last resort of those who have no credible rebuttal.
They argue this lockdown cure is worse than the disease with lost employment, suicides, death from delay of treatment on other medical conditions, denial of education to children causing psychological problems and lost opportunities, people losing their life investment as thousands of small business go bankrupt, and the citizens’ freedom guarantees in the bill of rights in the U.S.A. and the charter of rights in Canada being flagrantly abused, ignored and contradicted.
Thankfully, in Canada we have the Centre For Constitutional Freedoms that has become engaged in the issue and has filed a legal suit against the Government of Alberta challenging the constitutionality of many of the lockdown edicts. Similar suits are forthcoming against the governments of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
Common sense has vacated the public square, replaced by fear, twisted science, and knee-jerk reaction by authorities.
(As a result of The Centre of Constitutional Freedoms threat of court action the Manitoba Government has lifted its worship ban).
It is left to the citizen to speak up and demand their rights and freedoms and more rational public policy based on real science, consultation, and in concert with enshrined constitutional principles.
