Control of Coronavirus statistics foments alarmism
The BC Government and big media should be providing the Coronavirus statistics. Here’s a selection from the government’s own records.
Situation Report Week 11, 2021.
January 15, 2021 to March 20, 2021
- Cases – 93,000
- Hospitalizations – 5,000
- 94.62% of cases, no hospitalization.
- Only 5.38% of the cases end up in hospital.
- ICU – 1,138
- 98.9% of cases no ICU.
- Only 1.1 % of cases end up in ICU.
- Deaths – 1,438
- 98.45% of cases survive.1.45 % of cases die.
So why does the government not provide this information, not just on page 8 of a Situation Report, but in their press releases and the media in their numerous articles? Why doesn’t the government give this information regularly in their press conferences?
Would this not give some context – like only 5% of cases end up in hospital, only 1% of cases in ICU and only 1% of cases die?
How about no deaths between birth and age 29?
How about less than 1% of cases in ICU from birth to 10 years old., less than 1% of cases from 10 to 19 years old and only 2% from 20 to 29 years old?
I am old enough to remember that we are supposed to be out of oil by now when we have lots of it, more people starving when there are less people starving, and more violent storms when there are fewer.
It is not only the virus that is infectious – but alarmism in its many forms.
A tablet from the Assyrian era, thousands of years old, had this written on it:
“Our earth is degenerate in these latter days; bribery and corruption are common; children no longer obey their parents; every man wants to write a book, and the end of the world is evidently approaching.”
It seems we have learned little.
