Final Boundaries Commission meeting tonight

The provincial Electoral Boundaries Commission is holding it final meeting tonight of the prelamination phase of riding distribution. The Commission will continue to accept input to through its website and by email or post until May 31, but tonight’s meeting is the last opportunity to make a presentation directly to the Commissioners.

After the publication of the Commission’s preliminary report (due to the Legislative Assembly by October 21, 2022), there will be a second round of public consultation with in-person and virtual meetings across the province and virtual public meetings for every region of the province. BC Liberal leadership financial reports avaiable

Financing reports for BC Liberal Party leadership contestants Gavin Dew, Michael Lee and Ellis Ross are now available.

The financial report filing deadline for the 2022 BC Liberal Party leadership contest was May 6, 2022. The reports for Gavin Dew, Michael Lee and Ellis Ross were received by the deadline. 

Reports for contestants Kevin Falcon, Val Litwin, and Renee Merrifield were not received by the deadline. These contestants may file by June 6, 2022 with a $500 late filing fee.  

Stan Sipos was granted an extension to the filing deadline due to extenuating circumstances. This report is now due on June 6, 2022.

Elections BC will advise the public when these reports are available. 

Leadership contestant financing reports must contain the following information:

  • political contributions accepted
  • contestant expenses incurred, including a summary of advertising expenses by class
  • transfers of money, goods or services received and given
  • fundraising function information
  • other income received and expenditures made
  • loans and guarantees
